Last year, I introduced a Bill to amend the New Brunswick Education Act to enact recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada. This bill would mandate government to incorporate aboriginal culture and history into the New Brunswick public school curriculum. The bill passed second reading with the unanimous support of the house, but the session ended before the bill could be passed through committee and third reading.
On Thursday, 10 November, 2016 I reintroduced An Act to Amend the Education Act for consideration again this year.

L’année passé, j’ai introduit un projet de loi modifiant la Loi sur l’éducation pour adopter les recommandations de la Commission de vérité et réconciliation. Mon projet de loi cherche à confier gouvernement le mandat d’incorporé la culture des Autochtones et leur histoire dans le curriculum des écoles publiques du Nouveau-Brunswick. Ce projet de loi à passer sa deuxième lecture avec le soutien unanime de tous les membres de la Chambre. Toutefois la session conclue avant d’être passé ni au comité, et ni à la troisième lecture. Le jeudi 10 novembre 2016, j’ai réintroduit le projet de loi 10 Loi modifiant la Loi sur l’éducation.
